Women’s 17 European Championship
The
Women’s 17 European Championships took place from the 29th
June – 8th
July in Bratislava/SVK. The competition featured 16 girl teams
born 1990 or later. In the Sibamac Arena NTC in front of 1100
spectators, the national team of France defeated Spain to take the
title of the European Champion. France was also honoured as the
“Fair Play” team of the championship. Number 18 from France Isaure
VIGNER and number 3 from Spain Ana FERRER PROHIAS were awarded
with the title of best players of the match. EHF President Tor
Lian was present to declare the Championship officially over.

Men’s 19 European Open Championship
Our
second event of the summer took take place alongside the Partille
Cup from the 3rd – 7th July2007. With a total of 98 matches being
played over 5 days each team played a minimum of 8 matches with
the exception of the teams ranked 1-4 who played nine games in
Liseberg. The final between Sweden and Slovenia was played out in
front of a capacity crowd in the Liseberg Hall on the 7h Ju. The
final ranking of the 24 teams can be seen below:

Men’s and Women’s Beach European Handball Championships
The
2007 European Beach Hand.l Championships
took place on the eastern coast of Italy from the 10-15 July. Both
finals were decided on shoot-outs.Croatia beat Germany in the
women's final, while Russia won the men's tournament. The ECh
ended with a spectacular show from the Parachute Regiment of the
Italian Army, but the real spectacle was provided by the 36 teams
who played178matches during this
fantastic week in Misano Italy.

Women's 19 European Championship
With
Denmark’s victory the 2007 Women's 19 European Championship in
Izmir, Turkey (10-19 August 2007) came to an end. Danish right
wing Louise Knak Lyksborg scored 8 goals leading Denmark to a
29:19 (12:10) win over Spain in front of 1200 spectators. The two
finalists automatically qualified for the 2008 U20 World
Championship (IHF event) in FYR Macedonia. The national team of
Romania took the bronze in their match against Sweden who had to
settle for fourth place.

2nd Men’s Youth World Championship 2007 –
Bahrain (IHF Event)
The
International Handball Federation
organised
the 2nd Men’s Youth Championship 2007 in Bahrain on the
Asian continent. From the 16 participating teams, Europe had five
places and once again, the European younger age category
delegations performed well. In what proved to be a thrilling
final, the national team of Denmark claimed the Men’s Youth World
Championship title in a close match against fellow Europeans
Croatia.

16th Men’s Junior World
Championship 2007 – FYR Macedonia (IHF Event)
In
cooperation with the Macedonian Handball Federation, the
International Handball Federation
organised the 16th edition of
the Men’s Junior Championship 2007 in Europe in FYR Macedonia from
the 13th – 26th August 2007. There were 12
European teams participating in this competition. In spectacular
fashion, the national team of Sweden defeated the national team of
Germany to become Junior World Champion.
